What is DPF?
DPF (diesel particulate filter) treats your truck's exhaust by trapping particulate matter which is basically soot and ash. Diesel particulate filters have been a crucial part of a truck's emissions system. DPF's capture approximately 90% of diesel particles and soot preventing them from being released through the exhaust system.

Cleaning

The DPF must be cleaned every 150,000 to 300,000 miles to remove the built up ash. Cleaning methods include air blasting, de-ionized water and a vacuum-like system. This must be done very carefully to avoid any damage to the filter.
